Spooky Art

These are pics of the Cemetery of Comillas. It's an expression of Modernism art.

They say that the angel (first picture above), which is on the top of its walls, was commissioned by the first Marquis of Comillas, Antonio López y López, to guard the mausoleum of his eldest son, but later he decided to offer it to the town of Comillas.

I had never seen a cemetery right next to the sea before. It has fantastic views.

I made the pics in a cloudy day, and I thought they came out a bit spooky; could perhaps inspire a Halloween celebration.

Cantabria

Last weekend, I took a short break and visited Cantabria (to the north of Spain) with some friends.  Here you have some pics from our trip. Our first stop was the Cave of Altamira. You can't visit the real cave, so there is an exact replica you can see. The prehistoric paintings were a great inspiration for me. I foresee some bisons.

Our next stop was Comillas, a beautiful town by the sea. In the picture above, you can see the views from the Palace of Sobrellano.

As you can probably appreciate, I have started to use some filters to make pictures. I was delighted with the result.

Above, a handcraft market downtown.

We had lunch in one of the terraces you can see at the back.

The houses reminded me of Switzerland. Many balconies with flowers. Nice, aren't they?

I have many more pictures to show, but I'll leave them for another post.
