African Animal Mask

I bought this mask some time ago at a local market in Tenerife (Canary Islands). I used to have wooden coffee spoons with animal faces in my kitchen too. I love this kind of naïve art because it gets to my heart. It's so simple and yet so beautiful.

Solar Houses

I made these pictures last Sunday at the international competition of solar houses in Madrid. As expected, I became a total fan of the Japanese house- I'm so zen.
The dome you see at the top is from my brother's company, Domeworld. Beautiful, isn't it?

Leaf chairs

I went to see an exhibition -which is an international competition- of solar houses yesterday.  I have more photos to show you (I'll do it in the next days), but  first I wanted to show you these chairs -jointly designed by a French-Italian team. I felt in love with them.

Evening Walk

Autumn is not really here. Days are still long and warm. I long for the rain, the leaves falling from the trees, the smell of burning wood coming from the chimneys, the cold breeze, and a warm cup of chocolate next to a fireplace -even though I don't have one. What do you long for?

Dream Summer House

I  made this quick drawing of a house I saw in Lanzarote last summer. So simple, so quite, so beautiful. I kept imagining how it was to live in there.

Waiting for my son at a park near his school I came across these beautiful leaves. I found 12 different leaf shapes. Here you have the first set. I'm absolutely dazzled by them.

Blue Over Black

I'm always impressed by the contrast of colors of the protagonist of this blog. Blue over black, over brown, over light brown. Absolutely beautiful.

Hibiscus

What can be nicer than starting your day with some beautiful flowers? I made these pictures in the Canary Islands; they almost look unreal. Hibiscus is a flowering plant that grows in warm climates. Want to know more about it? Check here.

Stamps 2

A little bit more reading, a little bit more practising. Carving stamps is really relaxing. Not there yet, but there is an slight improvement.

First Stamp

I have a problem. When something gets into my head, I must do it. I have been thinking that I want to make my own wrapping paper with Tita's image, so that I can wrap the commissioned work. 

Finally,  after taking a look at a couple of tutorials I got myself into stamp carving. Above, you have the result of my first attempt.

I enjoyed very much the experience, it's really relaxing, almost like a therapy, but I still have to improve the technique. As with everything: "practice makes perfect."

There are more people out there that love French bulldogs. Saw this statue last weekend in a restaurant on Serrano street. I'd like to have a similar statue of Alma.
