Enchiladas

Some years ago, Mark bought a book about food in the U.S. (second and third photo above).

It is a beautiful encyclopedia which describes, with plenty of pictures, food  and dishes from different regions in the United States.  Today -inspired by a recipe I saw in the book- I decided to make a couple of Tex-Mex dishes: "enchiladas" and "quesadillas"
I think they were very much appreciated by everybody at home.

Underwear

No, this is not my underwear. Not yet, at least. I saw a photo of this underwear and I thought such artistic items of clothing deserved a drawing.

French Pâtisserie

I watched this video - suggested by Patricia- about a British Chef living in Paris, and I got all inspired to draw French cakes. They seem to be so incredibly delicious.

Rachel Khoo, the Britsh Chef, cooks in her tiny Parisian apartment all kinds of French cakes. I love the atmosphere; so many details, so much flavor, and taste. Hope you enjoy the video and my cake too.

Hens From Corsica

I got these beautiful metal hens and rooster from my brother. They are from Corsica (Corse), a French  Island in the Mediterranean Sea located west of Italy. I find them simple adorable.

Pink Roses

These roses come from my garden and I had them in my guest room, which is also my office. They have managed to survive the heat wave in Madrid, so I figure they must be very strong.

I love to put flowers in my guest room and to make them feel like they are in a five-star hotel. Even a very humble room looks superb when you decorate it with flowers.
I have placed them here now, in this little corner of Alma Schouman's blog for my visitors. Hope you also feel great visiting me. Have a nice weekend!

Green Leaves

I went around my house and I made these pics of shapes of leaves. Aren't they beautiful? The last one is Rosemary. You can find it anywhere around here. I use it a lot for cooking.

French Wood

How do I know these logs are French? Very simple. My drawing was inspired by a picture my sister-in-law made in Paris. I figured then "these must be Frech logs." I think that gives them a special artistic touch. Have a nice day!

Peppers

These are mine bell peppers. They come from my local supermarket. I saw them in the fridge and I  thought it would be a good idea to draw them. This is the result.

Hot Summer Evening

Summer evening, yellow, orange, redish, earthly tones. Almost like a dessert. Compare this with the tones of last spring.

Iced Tea

I love iced tea. English tea, lots of ice, and no sugar. So refreshing for the warm madrilean afternoons!

Yesterday I visited a pet shop and I saw the most adorable chipmunks on a wheel inside their cage. Needless to say that I got inspired and I had to draw one.

Feeling Down

I love French bulldogs because they are ugly and cute at the same time. This one is feeling a bit down. I saw a picture of him on a newspaper article about fires that took place in Chicago. Unfortunately, I can't find the source now.

Introducing Sofi

My mother's got two cats, both were saved by her from a certain death. She pampers them so much that they feel the owners of her house. Sofi, in the picture, is one of them.

A funny thing about Sofi is that she hisses at anybody who tries to enter my mother's room,  or even come near her belongings, and she's not afraid of people. Pretty much like a guardian dog.

The first time I saw her -she has just arrived from Chile- she came near me and started hissing at me, but at the same time, she was trying to take a peek inside my bag. Couldn't believe it. My cat would never do that. Quite a character, indeed.

In this  funny website you can hear different sounds that cats make, including hissing.

Climbing Up A Tree

Tita, the Parisian cat, decided to climb up a tree. Good for her nails and for her owner's couch.

I love the activity of this cat: killing birds, watching her owner cooksupervising humans when they move to a new house, complaining about my drawing, relaxing, posingmeditating, being herself. Quite a character, isn't she?

Lavender Sachet Bag

There is so much lavender around the house that I had to make this sachet bag to keep it.  This kind of work relaxes me so much. I do it right before falling asleep and I feel fantastic.

Business Cards Made With Pressed Flowers

I went to have lunch with my mother yesterday, and she showed me these beautiful cards she had made  when she lived in Chile.

She used flowers that she found in the street, pressed them with a heavy telephone guide and then glued them to a white card. I will surely keep a card like this if given to me. It's like a treasure.

Moroccan Dream

We bought this very cute cat house, together with a cat cushion, in Ikea some time ago. Her house is in our living room next to one of the main windows, so she can enjoy the sunlight.

I found Alma in her Moroccan house this morning. So cute, so lovely.  She loves to get in there, relax and enjoy the rays of sun. Wish I could do the same.
