Gaudi - El Capricho

The man above is Antoni Gaudi, a Spanish Catalan architect, a figurehead of Catalan Modernism.
Among many other famous buildings, he designed "El Capricho" ("whim" in Spanish), a summer chalet that looks like a palace, commissioned by Máximo Diaz de Quijano. You can read more about it here.

A blueprint of "El Capricho"..

Views from the exterior.

More blueprints.
Detail of a column.

It's decorated with ceramics representing sunflowers.

The tower. Notice the sunflowers everywhere.
A chair, inside, designed by Gaudi.

It's incredible how art can turn already beautiful places into astounding spots.
